Green Hills Garden and Nursery was started in August, 2012.
We grow seedlings of Korean baby maple, green tea and camellia.
Korean baby maple is grown from seeds found near the Backyang Temple in Naejang Mountain, Korea. It belongs to acer palmatum, a family of Japanese maple and is now about five years old.
For green tea, we are participating in USDA grant project to design to test for hardiness of each tea plant among Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian (Sochi and Black Sea) cultivars.
We grow camellia seedlings from Jeju Island, Korea and hope to find hardy cultivars for Northern Virginia and other states with cold winter.
Farmer Yung Joon is featured on the Farmer Trading Cards, an award-winning initiative begun in 2016, that has become a favorite among students and farmers alike. A strong collaboration between Loudoun Economic Development and the Loudoun County Public Schools’ Nutrition Services office resulted in the creation of Farmer Trading Cards.
